Already have a rescue pet? We're here for the whole journey — not just the adoption day.
Bringing home a rescue animal is an incredible experience — but it can also bring questions. What vaccines were given? When's the next vet visit due? What food were they eating at the shelter?
Your rescue organization has all of this in their Rescue Tracker dashboard. Reach out to them directly with any questions — they want to hear from you and are invested in your pet's success.
The "3-3-3 Rule": 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine, 3 months to feel at home. Be patient — it's worth it.
Even if your rescue came with a recent health check, schedule a visit with your own vet within the first two weeks. Build that relationship early.
Ask your rescue organization for copies of all vet records, vaccine history, and microchip information. Store them somewhere accessible.
Make sure the microchip is registered in YOUR name with your current contact info. This is often overlooked after adoption.
Many rescues love adoption updates — photos, milestones, funny moments. These stories inspire future adopters and keep the rescue community thriving.
Behavioral quirks are normal in newly adopted animals. Ask your rescue for resources, and consider a trainer if you have specific concerns. You're not alone.
